27. September 2009 - Camden

Our first destination was Camden, a little ways away from where we are living--although technically, GoogleMaps says that our address is in Camden, but who really knows. This is Camden Locks, near the end of a busy set of street fairs and markets, surrounded by tons of little food stands and restaurants.

There were so many people--busy shoppers trying to beat you to a pair of shoes, vendors yelling at you to try their food, and cabs threatening to run you over.

After much deliberation, we selected food and brought it to eat alongside the canal, by the bridge.

Many people were stretched out along the banks of the locks, enjoying the last minutes of sunshine and warmth.

In the canal, there was an island of sorts upon which people were picnicking and lounging. This fellow had chosen what looked like the most uncomfortable place to sit and read, but the overall effect was quite striking. The red book makes the shot, in my opinion.
